Bahá’u’lláh, in The Kitáb-i-Aqdas, “…emphasizes the necessity of
providing the means for the education of children.”
‘Abdu’l-Bahá asserts, “From the very beginning, the children must
receive divine education and must continually be reminded to remember
their God.”
The Universal House of Justice, in its Ridván 2000 message, has
lovingly called our attention to the children, who are our “most
precious resource”, our “promise and guarantee of the future”, and our
“trust”. It has enjoined upon us the need to spiritually nurture the
children and junior youth and to integrate them into the life of the
community — not only for their own benefit, but for the progress of our
community, and future!

The following audio
stories of the Dawnbreakers and history of the Bahá’í Faith are
dedicated to our children, youth, and the new Bahá’ís all over
the world. You can save to a CD, iPod, mp3 player, or computer,
and offer them as a gift.
To
make
your own CD
-
Obtain a CD
disc. Best to get a CD-R. Say for example: CD- 700MB, 80 min
-
Go to the file
that you want to save.
-
Pick the file
that you want to burn. Then click or ‘right click’ on it,
and then click on save or ‘save target as’. If they are in a folder
then click on files one by one and save.
-
Save them to
your
CD drive,
which goes to a temporary
CD burning folder
on your computer.
If you are downloading more than one
file do not open the folder (close) until all the files have
been downloaded.
-
When you
downloaded all the files that you want to burn,
then click “file” on the upper top left of your screen
(in your CD drive,
temporary
CD burning folder)
and
then select “write these files to CD” Then give your CD
the name you want, and click “next”. If you do not
have a CD in your CD Drive insert a blank CD, when the
Wizard asks you how you want your CD, check “Make an audio
CD”, and click “next”.
-
The computer
then asks you if you want to burn (this usually appears on
the bottom right-hand side of your ‘Window Media Player’.
Say “yes burn”. Start to burn. (Make sure that all the files
of that folder that you want to burn are shown there).
-
When burning is
done, usually the Disc drive will open automatically.
-
When you are
finished, the temporary file should automatically clean
itself, if it does not, you might want to do so if you do
not want to burn the same file again.
To delete click on the “file” menu. Click on “Delete
temporary files”
Note: You can download all the files to
your computer and save them anywhere you decide, then you can

Children and pre-youth classes:
How to find and plan
Neighborhood children or pre-youth class in an area of a
big city
- Scout the area. Drive around and find the
students by seeing where the kids play, seek their parents and show
them your program and plan, and then schedule a class. Find other
places in which you can have classes, such as a large apartment
building, parks, community centers, and talk to the manager.
- Organize our
Bahá’í youth to become children’s class
teachers. schedule them for each class.
- Drive the youth in a systematic way to their
classes and pick them up.
- Schedule possibly every Sunday at 11 to 12,
for example.
- Community might want to help but do not know
how, show them.
- Keep things simple and not elaborate; use book
3 and 3A for guide and class material and other materials already
developed.
Ruhi - Study Circle - Resources
- Combine or unitize these newly formed
Neighborhood children and pre-youth classes with your regular
classes at your center or wherever you were having them.
Some misconceptions about children’s classes.
- Misconception is that the best classes have 20
or 30 students, whereas the best classes might have just four
or five students. Smaller groups are usually the best. But have more classes
in the area.
- Misconception is that the teacher or class
must be perfect. However, to start, the simpler the better.
- Misconception is that just one or two classes
would suffice. However, classes need to be held regularly, weekly
or monthly for, say, nine months or so. Do not stop when success
arrive.
- Misconception is
that only
Bahá’ís can be teachers.
Liabilities issues:
- Make sure at least two teachers, preferably
male and female, are together with the students all the time.
- Make sure the place you chose is safe and not
close to hazardous area or gang- infested area.
- Get the release form that you can download
from National website signed by the parents at a right time
